Magistrates Court
Prosecutions for all offences commence in the Magistrates Court.
Prosecutions for all offences commence in the Magistrates Court with the vast majority of minor criminal cases being dealt with before a District Judge (formerly a Magistrate).
Our Belfast Solicitors are very highly experienced in representing clients in a broad spectrum of criminal matters. We advise and represent clients throughout the course of cases which routinely include entering pleas of guilty, contesting cases and committal proceedings.
Applications for legal aid will be made for those clients entitled to same. Our experience of Magistrate Court cases include representation of clients for offences such as disorderly behavior, common assault, more serious assaults, theft, benefit fraud and motoring offences. We represent clients both in and beyond Belfast and will continue to advise clients when considering any appeal.
